hi, everybody!

part 1

I would like to ask you guys for advice. I would like to learn more

about scales and chords and therefore would like to buy a machine that

you can use for recording background chords so that you can practice

soloing over these chords. Well, I was thinking about keyboard with

sequencer but my friend told me that i am guitarplayer not keyboard

player and he said that it is difficult to record guitar on keyboard.

I was recommended guitar processor digitech gnx4. Is it good machine?

Do you think it could be helpful for somebody who wants to learn music

and soloing over chord progressions?

part 2

Can you recommend any interesting dvd's for those who want to learn

about heavy metal licks on advanced level. Do you think that marty

friedman or other famous players have ever issued some dvd with guitar

lessons on them? Please, let me know if you know some good heavy metal

lessons on dvd. If you have any particular dvd's on your mind , please send me their symbols so that it is easier for shop assistant to trace them and check if these dvd's are available for ordering.

regards
rafael

Alot of drum machines have built in seqencers, where you type in a beat and key and it gives you a progression. If you look around your local music shop they will have lots im sure. Or on the net. Alternativley you can record youself on the computer or buy jam tracks.

Good dvds for advanced metal can be found here...

www.chopsfromhell.com (http://www.chopsfromhell.com/)
www.angelo.com (http://www.angelo.com/)
www.joestump.com (http://www.joestump.com/)

Those are some good places to check, michael angelo has speed kills 1 and 2 and also speed lives which are very popular technique videos. Chops from hell is where all the ubershredders like rusty cooley sell there wares. Joe stump is like Yngwie malmsteen except you can actually buy his videos.

For scales and chords check out www.metalmethod.com (http://www.metalmethod.com/) which has a guitar course you can buy, they also sell mikes speed kills there to.

You should check out guthrie govans creative guitar books for scales and chords.
Creative guitar 1: this is mainly theory based, has modes and scales, basic sight reading, easy and more advanced chords and arppegios and lots of general advice musicians need to consider.

Creative guitar 2: This is all about technique and is more of a continuation of number 1, tapping with all fingers, picking, legato, imitating other instruments, extended scales and sweep/economy picking is all in here with some other stuff thrown in.

Also a good video/dvd to get is john petruccis rock discipline.

Those ones have helped alot of guitarists in technique, Rusty cooley, dimebag and john petrucci all own(ed) mikes metal method and star licks videos (star licks maybe out of print now though) so mike angelo is a great teacher. I hope they help you out to! Even if your not at the level there at, its fun to watch lol.
