hey guys. just wonderin if u knew any good legato etudes. i mean full pieces ala Satch's "Echo" and Steve Vai's "Tender Surrender". Just looking for some good songs with monster legato lines that would be good for practice.

Flying In A Blue Dream has probably the longest legato lick in any of Satch's early songs. FIABD is excellent practice....Also Gnaaah from Is There Love In Space? has some cool legato lines with unusual patterns, and the self titled track has some monster legato lines as well. Make sure you warm up first though! Try Red Alert by Allan Holdsworth...well, it actually may be on 'Tony William's Lifetime..Believe It' album with Allan on the guitar. Nirvana's Smells Like Teen Spirit is chock full of.....hmmmm. nope! :D

If I remember correctly, there also is a rather fast, very long legato passage in "In The Name Of God" by Dream Theater ( "Train Of Thought" album )
