Well, it's just one of those days...

Don't let it phase you, just flange on down to the local markt, pick up a four pack of distortion juice, don't digital delay, get home, partake of beverage, and hear a new stereo chorus to your playing.

(disclaimer: in no way am i suggesting beer improves playing of instruments or makes you big and/or clever)

:D

I cast another vote to put it down and try again tomorrow. If you are having a bad day (and everyone does from time to time), getting frustrated and pressing on doesn't accomplish much. Also, when you pick up the guitar again, take your time warming up and don't try to rush into the things that were giving you trouble last time you played. Even though it can be frustrating try to enjoy your time playing. Remember a bad day playing guitar is better than a good day at work.

I've got a similar issue. Sometimes my motivation runs away. Then you'll just have to accept it and do something else. There's no way you can force it. Try with a break, and see when you feel like playing again.

I have another problem:
During the day I'm not very motivated to do anything but hanging around, but when the night comes I can feel the passion coming over me and I'm SO motivated to play and write. Now I'm on "holiday" and can live that way, but normally I have to go to bed at 11 o clock and wake up in the morning, it's against my nature!

Right, but prepare for another day of such character every now and then.

"My day" was yesterday, almost everything I tried to play sounded like ****. Today everything was fine, even better than all the days before. Sometimes I feel that developing my technical guitar abilities is like climbing up a ladder and before I can enter the next level I first fall down some levels.
