Hi All,

Recently I have been working on StressFest by Steve Morse. It's really a killer song and I use it as a workout for the 3nps scale patterns as it almost exclusively uses these patterns throughout the song. The cool thing is that it also jumps around a few keys, making you think quickly. By the way it's definitely a StressFest because playing this tune to tempo requires a very quick right hand. I have slowed it down to about 60%. Hopefully I will have up to speed in a couple of months.

If anybody has also worked on this piece I would love to hear your experiences / frustrations etc with learning it.

Also. The solo section of the song is played over a G based bass groove. Steve uses a lot of chromatic passages here. I would like to know if anybody knows how he approaches these chromatic passages theory wise. His passages fit in so seamlessly, but when I try using chromatic stuff, it just ends up sounding too semi-tonish.
