cool #9 legato crossover dampening

hey.....can anyone of you satch fans out there can tell me how joe plays that lick (the one after the sweep picking) on his song "cool #9" where he uses his right hand to mute the strings over his left hand?......what is he doing with his left hand?......are there any notes to be followed and play?.....or its just moving the fingers in different frets and strings randomly?......tnx

Something like this it is. Which should be a Cmin7/9/11 broken chord.
I don't know the actual key of that sopng, but i remember that he used that kind of shape in it.
