Start with some Iron Maiden - Phantom of the Opera, Aces High, Two Minutes To Midnight, The Trooper, The Prisoner, Number of the Beast, et cetera. Those will get you started.

Try S.T.P's Sex Type Thing, not that difficult, and will really improve your picking speed on the Low End and improve your ability to strech! Just a suggestion. I think of songs like Phish's "Mike Song" and Filter's "Hey Man..Nice Shot"->Drop D for that one! Hope this helps!

Most 80's metal songs should do. Check out Metallica's "Kill'em All" album. Alot of galloping on there (specifically The Four Horsemen). Iron Maiden used alot of galloping as well as Judas Priest. Also check out some Slayer, Death, and Necrophagist. Necrophagist does ALOT of string skipping and big stretches, which will also help in many, many ways.
