when i bend a string i usually do it with my 2nd and 3rd fingers and use the first to lay accross the the lower string, muting them from ringing out, however i sometimes have problems exacuting clean vibrato on a bent note, should i start bending with 3 fingers like most people and use my picking hand as a mute or is it just a matter of finger strength? does anyone else bend with 2 fingers? using the index to mute the other strings? any help would be apriciated, cheers

I usually use 3 fingers. I have greater control over the tone when I play it this way.

w00t, this is my 1000th post on these forums and just in time as well. It has been two years since I've been posting on ibm.

Gerry Garcia bent strings with all 4 fingers, so does STeve Lukather and Steve Morse. Whatever works....The only one rule is that there are no rules...
