Hello there!
Here's a link to what I've recorded recently:

It's just the opening solo of Strange Kind Of Woman by Deep Purple; What I need from you is your feedback, opinion, comments and remarks. Everything.
another thing which bothers me is when I do this very first bending (on the 10th fret -> 12th from D to E sound) I tend to catch the H string and I get a kind of muffled sound which makes everything sound bad... even though I use my right hand to stop the H string from emiting any sounds... help me please...
thanks in advance

I've actually got a question for you. I was always under the impression that H was German for Bb. Is that not true or are you tuned down a half step?
Anyways, I just wanted to ask that. Other people here can surely give more info about bending then I can.

Just practise not to catch the B (H) string :)

When bending strings, a personal technique of mine is to use both my right-picking hand and my left-fretting hand.
You're probably using your ring finger to bend that string, right? Well, think about it. You also have your middle/index finger to the left of you. Use them to mute the string noise when you're bending strings, as well as muting them with your right hand.
This works the best for me.
thanks!
I use two fingers to bend up the E string... so my index finger is kind of "unemployed" ;) tell me please... how to mute the B string with the index finger and bend up the E string at the same time... ?

DAMMIT. I got all excited thinking someone had discovered a new note.
i still dunno how to bend this string...

In Germany and some other countries:
German H= english B
German B= english Bb
So the last bit of the chromatic scale, in german: G-Ab-A-B-H-C
Confusing sometimes

Hehehe... It is like that in Denmark too, and all other musicians i know use it, but I learned everything in english, so we always misunderstand each other.
aaa ;) this was supposed to be about bending and I got just one reply about bending so far...

I can't hear the file anymore as the thing has expired.
I would just say that most people bend the E string and then use the fleshy part at the top of the bending finger to mute the B string as you get close to it.
Then it just takes practice to eliminate the unwanted noise.

Hi Adik – tried your video link but it just gives a message saying “expired”, so I can’t see what your actually doing with your fingers.
But, if it’s a normal straightforward bend, I use the 2nd finger for the bend with the index finger just behind it…the second finger makes the bend and the tip of the index finger damps against the B-string...that stops any sound from the B string. Try that.:)

I am at work so I can't tell you for sure (it sucks that I need to look at my hands to see what I'm actually doing... ) but I think I use part of my right hand thumb (the one closest to the heel of my hand) to mute all the strings above the string I'm bending and I use the index of my left hand to mute those below. But like I said, I need to check it when I get home.
I hope that points you in the right direction though.
