How are you recording this stuff? I can hear pick noise so I guess you're mic'ing an amp in a small room. Any details on setup/effects/amps? That's a great lead sound!

Well I'm using a triple rectafier at a low volume through a 5 dollar computer mic HAHAHAHAHA . the effects are as follows. Triple rec settings = clean channel pushed by a tube screamer with a holy grail reverb pedal and a dd5 digital delay .... dont laugh its the truth LOL . The trick is keeping the amp as far away from the computer mic as possible and givin it a little juice :P. Thanks for the compliments guys

Hmmm...sounds nice, but I don't really have any advice for ya. Maybe, if you haven't, check out some Randy Rhoads solos. They sure are sweet to hear. Thats about all I can really say. His leads are the only ones I have ever played, and they are fun. They employ a lot of nice techniques, and some serious shreddinmg in some of them. Check out his cadenza, (live show solo), off of The Tribute album.
Sepultura use some differant stuff sometimes in their music, Brazilian traditional theory, I guess. I have really been out of the game here for the past four years...lol...been playing again for 2 months now, so I am a bit rusty with knowledge too.
Maybe some Pantera...:D
About practicing...I just practice, practice, practice...I try to play scales differantly every couple weeks or something, try to spice it up a little. Other than that, I'm just trying to put together a solid routine for myself. if I come up with some kool stuff, I'll surely hook you up.
