Sweeping with your bass is not a good idea. I use a broom or brush.:D
On a more serious note, search the forum and you will find much on arpeggios and sweeping.

Hmm ... is that statue supposed to be Jesus Christ? Cos, I think it's actually Paul Gilbert!
I'll tell you why - look at the length of his little finger ... it's longer than any other finger! The only freakish guy I know like that is Paul Gilbert ... I'm jealous of Pauls extremely long thin fingers ... I'm sure that's why he finds all those fast long stretches so much easier than I do.

It can be done, I know that the bassist in Origin does it.

Once you've warmed up, you can do simple chordal sweeps that sound great for accenting your rhythmic abilities.
For example, if you're starting a phrase that depends on a Bm chord, instead of just hitting the "B" for the bass note at the top of the phrase, try instead to "rake" a Bm chord starting with the high note and ending at the low B note root of the chord on the beat...
Otherwise, other "ghost note" pickup rhythmic phrase can really make you stand out while fitting in as a virtuoso bassist, if ya know what I mean...
If not, pm me as it's hard to explain.
