HI people , I need some help with Tapping setup. I want a guitar tone and setup that help me doing tapping without some noise or the tone ain't that great. I already played tapping in some other guitarrists setup and sounded great, So I guess the problem ain't mine. I want some tips to get a real good sound...some tips at the amp: gain , bass, treble, mid. I really don't know I'm kinda lost. :(

I hear Eddie Van Halen and he got some great sound , Reb Beach too and a lot of tapping guys, they can have a really good sound and tone  . I don't know how to have that kind of sound. SUGGESTIONS PLEASE

PS: sorry if I was not able to explain but is because Its really hard to describe the problem, I really don't know. :p :D

It has a lot more to do with technique than gear (which, by the way, is not discussed at ibreathe). You should be able to get a good, even tapping sound playing your guitar unplugged, that is the foundation of everything. If you can do that, you will have a much easier time playing the stuff cleanly through an amp (whatever setup it may be). naturally, if you play with high gain, you might have to make sure you are damping the idle strings sufficiently, usually using the right hand palm for the bass strings and covering the treble strings with the left hand fingers.

Recently, I have switched from tapping with my middle finger to tapping with my index finger. It is a bit tricky, because you have to hold the pick with the remaining fingers, but I found that it improved my tone and dynamic range.
