Ok, so I know that when you play 4 note per string patterns you can either slide or use 1 finger per fret. I am wondering about the sliding though... I know that when ascending you would slide with you index finger... but what about descending? When desecending should you use your pinky? or should you stil use you index except it would slide before the last notes on that string? which way? thanks!

oops I think I mixed descending and ascending up :o

When I said ascending I meant going from high to low, and when I said descending I meant going from low to high notes.

Um.... haha.

I don't think it really matters. It's up to you to choose which is more comfortable to you and which sounds better.

I mean, which note do you want to slide? You could slide the 2nd note or the 3rd note or whatever right?

On the way up you really need to slide your index finger, as you then need to play the next three notes without moving position using your remaining three fingers.

But there is no hard and fast rule it's up to you.
