I have some friends who are considering attending the Jamie Aebersole jazz guitar summer camp in KY. I believe it's a five day deal.
Is there a similar offering for shred? I've Googled and come up with nothing.
Thanks,
Jerry

I think there is a place called Musicians Institute or something in the US...go to youtube and type it in and you should find it somewhere.

It's in Canada but one of the sessions has a special 'Extreme Guitar' seminar, to which Paul Gilbert will be a visitor.
I went a couple years ago and really liked it, and there were plenty of people from the US.

I did check Musicians IT, but don't see any week-long programs, thanks.
On second Google, I do see that a Jeff Beasley will be in Nashville, TN, in July, for a shred week. I'll post the link (http://www.guitarworkshop.com/Data/2008brochure/2008brochure.pdf) when able.

Mattias IA Eklundh annually hosts "Freak Guitar Camp" here in Sweden :D
It seems great, you get to practise like 10 hours a day, get a book crammed with licks and songs, tutition from the master himself, nice meals everyday included, guest appearences from well-known guitarists etc.

there you will find the info you need, however, I see now that 2008 is sold out. But perhaps next year?
cheers
