Since December 12th of 2006, I've been practicing that scale up and down and I can play at 140bpm sixtuplets of a good day, without recording pressures holding me back. But when plugged into the amp, it sounds like crap. I'm currently even too shy to plug it into my amp when I play, so I don't own one.

Can you please listen to my recording and tell me my technical flaws? Its fully alternate picked, with my tendency to slightely accent the 1st note on any new string I have to cross over.

I'd love some constructive criticism.

Here is another, picking a little harder this time and played a little slowly.

Also, here are the tabs:

Sorry but no one is going to be able to tell you anything by this recording.

Its an un amplified electric guitar from what I can tell.

As for your being too shy to plug in. This can be a problem if you don't push through it as soon as you can.

I take it your worried about what other people might think when you strum a few notes and they "sound crap"

Well let me tell you. You are going to sound crap for a long time after you first switch on that amp and start understanding how to make it sound good.

There is not one person on earth who didn't sound like a duck torturer for some time after they started amplifying themselves.

Point being. Forget about what you sound like or what others may think. Focus only on working toward your goal. How ever crappy you sound untill you get there.

Practicing sounding good is more inportant than any speed or scale training - the listeners will thank you for that!

And now come on and plug that thing in - that is what it's made for!
Till then this is like sitting in a turned off car making "Vrooooom...vroooom" with your mouth pretending to be a racecar driver. :D
