Hi Marc!
I donīt know about jazz playing but thereīs a german guitarist named Markus Deml (also known as Errorhead) who combines basically rock playing in the style of Vai/Satriani with techno/house grooves. He does it great and if you get the chance to see him live at one of his workshops (he plays regularly at the Musik Messe Frankfurt) definitely check him out. Heīs very entertaining and a complete lunatic!:D
As far as jazz...I think now Michael Sagmeister did something like it but I donīt know too much about it. Just saw him live once and he played stuff with electronic beats...

hi thorsten,
thanks for the tipp about markus "mr.errorhead" deml.
I do have to say that I already know him.
he was my teacher from ī97 to ī00.
during this days I was still in school and always took a day off ( illegaly ) to go to hamburg in order to spend two hours with him.
nowadays I just canīt afford it any more, because traintravelling is much to expensive and I do have to pay much more bills ( housing etc. ) than during my schooldays.
but nevertheless weīre still in touch regularly.
and youīre right, besides his playingabilities, itīs his showmanship, thatīs really impressive. and his such a warm and gentle guy. unbelievable...
to me he is definately the most important person ( relating to my musical life ), that Iīve ever met.
if I should spell hero: D E M L...
