Bass and music theory?

I'm not sure where this question should be placed due to the fact that it touches on more than one of the forum sections. But I suppose this one seems like it needs to be dusted off and looked at!:p

Well my question is, can anyone suggest something for someone new to the bass and music theory? Maybe a book or anything to that sort. I am looking for something that correlates with the bass guitar and music theory for beginners. I've played the bass for about 2 years, but don't know how to "label" things correctly, I have tought myself and mainly play by ear.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
