The chart I gave you on the other post. Then this:

Then flash cards. When you can look at a card (flash card) and identify the note by name -- in the same amount of time it would take you to say your name - that's step one - then start using lead sheet music instead of the flash chords - then start playing your guitar from lead sheet music, i.e. be able to identify the note on the lead sheet AND then be able to find it on your fretboard, sound it, and do all that without loosing the beat. The key to this is practice, practice, practice.
Example of lead sheet music:

You can purchase sheet music like this:

Helped me, and I wont tell......
Hey guys, I need to get better at sight reading and I need some exercises that can build up my experience?I think I (we) have answered this before, but the best exercise is simply to keep looking at music you haven't seen before.
Just keep remembering that the point of the exercise is not to learn the piece. So there's no need to keep going over the same thing.
Of course, it's difficult to find sheet music free online, at least for modern music (anything still in copyright). But there's plenty of sites offering out-of-copyright music, such as folk songs, hymns, carols, classical pieces, etc.
Remember you don't have to like the music you use! You're not learning to play it from memory, to perform it! It's simply a reading exercise, to practice your understanding of pitches and rhythms.

Mike one of these days you'll have to fill out your profile. Salesman or an attorney is my guess as you always end with another question. Course you could be starting Middle School, who knows.

What's wrong with buying a book of sheet music? There are hundreds of inexpensive books like that with notation for masses of different songs.
David Oakes book "Reading Music for Guitar" contains loads of sheet music for loads of songs, as well as mainly being a book explaining how to read notation ... you might find it clearer & simpler than your book by Levine.
If you're serious about playing, then get some books and study from those. You'd need those books even if you were taking regular lessons from a private teacher.

Yeah, I am taking private lessons but my teacher missed last week and I ran out of music to practice because I already memorized them so...

Didn't he/she recommend any books or give you any handouts with exercises to practice?
Ian.

My first teacher gave me a few books and also wrote a lot of stuff in my notebook, I also have both 1 and 2 of the William Leavit book series.

So, practice that stuff ... until next time you see your teacher (then ask him about reading notation) ... loads of stuff to practice ... need to practice everything to get good ... right ;) .
