I have an Ibanez RG series guitar with the floating tremolo. My Dilemma is this, I want to change my strings, but the tensions is already too much and the bridge(i think thats what its called), the guitar part, close to where i pick is lifted up. I'm not sure how to get it back down so its even with the guitar so i can change the strings. Can any body give some ideas? I don't want to waste another 10 bucks on strings again. Oh, I've had size 10's for two years now.

Floating bridges need to be set up for a particular gauge and tuning. Install the new strings and tune to pitch. Tighten the tremolo springs in the back of the guitar and retune. Repeat as necessary until the bridge sits level.

Just put .10's on and then see where the bridge lays.
If it's not level adjust accordingly with the spring tension in the back, retune and check your action, redo the procedure until it's right.

Skatr - please check the forum rules - we have a rule against any gear discussion.

The brief advice you have been given above is correct. If you need more details then Google will easily give you many pages of step-by-step instructions on how to set a Floyd-type bridge.

Or ... go to the Jackson/Charvel forum and they will tell you all about it in detail (they are good guys & known their stuff).

Otherwise - sorry, but I'll shortly have to close this thread (re. the rules).
