A book I have calls the chord below G9(+11). I see no 11th. Can someone enlighten me?
Thanks,
Dan
Wait a sec, maybe I've got it... is that C# an augmented 11th, and the "+" is for augmented?
Hi Danster,
The chord on the diagram goes like this:
(g b f a c#)
1. G is the Root.
2. B - major third.
3. Perfect 5th is omitted here. There should have been D there to make it complete. But due to 4# (+11) presence it's been thrown away to avoid clash.
4. F is 7th.
5. A is major 9th.
6. C# is 4# (tritone with G) or +11.
Zatz.

Thanks Zatz. I kinda figured it out right after I posted (so I went back and added a comment). I didn't realize at first that the "+" meant augmented.
Cheers,
Dan
