speaking of Vai
Did u guys happen to catch the Vai lessons over at the
guitar world sight.
Was kind of Ironic cause I happened over there
right after our little sight singing discussion.
Very cool stuff.
And Jon Finn is too cool
Do you know if he's got any books out
or if they by chance have collected his colums he used to write
for Guitar Player for the PM.
I really dig his teaching style.
Great Teacher.
Never Met the Man but...
Great Teacher.

Hey,
well, yes, I have seen those lessons. I like those on his site ( the old ones from the 80īs... he surprised a lot of people back then cuz he didnīt really write about wild shredding but about emotions, personality and stuff like that )...
Jon wrote a book called "Advanced Modern Rock Guitar Improvisation". I once had a chance to check it out, and it is really cool. Some very cool ideas and approaches in there, like stuff about modes and fretboard geometry. I really recommend checking it out.
You can get it at Amazon, hereīs a link: Finn @ Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0786647922/qid%3D1026301654/sr%3D11-1/ref%3Dsr%5F11%5F1/103-3161557-5091850)
Also, at his official site you can read some of his older columns. The one about two hand tapping is cool, I like the tune he wrote about, "All Tapped Out".
His site is HERE (http://www.jonfinn.com)
If you like the way he teaches, I recommend to check out the way he PLAYS :D
I love his records, both "Donīt Look So Serious" and "Wicked". Lots of different styles here, some Steve Morse-influence too ( he quotes the fast "chorus" of "The Bash" at the end of "Industrial Strength Hoedown Extravaganza"... awesome ), a unique player and a cool band.
You can still get those at Guitar 9 (http://www.guitar9.com/dontlooksoserious.html)
Warm regards
