hi .....
i am working on this book right now....
but i have a few questions....

here it is.....
at position 2
when i play in C key ....i feel no problem.....
but when i play G key or other keys....
there is a problem confused...me.......
take G key for example .... when i sight read on G key scale...
i play #F........and i sing "sol la ti do re mi fi sol"

just like leavitt said ...G key at the position 2 is the type 2 fingering pattern......
but when i sight reading and play it ...i just can't think that i am playing type 2 fingering pattern....i feel that i am playing C key
with #F.......
so should i sing movable Do system when i sight reading.....???

thanks.....

The IDEA of #ing F to create G major from C is a good thing to understand. You should have a method of playing based all on C major like a piano, AND you should have a method of playing with movable patterns. The solfege idea mimics this, and I would be willing to bet that Mr Leavitt had this in mind when he wrote these studies.
