Hey guys.
I am really getting into fusion and prog right now, stuff like Gambale, Holdsworth and also Liquid Tension Experiment and some other stuff Virgil Donati is doing with an aussi band. I would like some fusion/prog licks (in the style of the guys mentioned above - Gambale, Petrucci, Holdsworth etc.) that aren't too hard and that I could incorporate into my playing
Thanks

hey, here is a lydian b7 lick in a rather "rocky" way. the pattern should be familiar and the ending is a part of the pentatonic G pent with a bend from the b3 to the 3.
just a small and easy one to get started :-)

here you get another one - maybe you thought the last one was boring..
its in G and and superimposes a Cmaj7 arp in the middle. starting and ending with a Gmaj 7 arp.
since it starts with an E you could try it over a Emin chord - sounds nice as well 'cause you'll get min9 arps.
according to E the middle arp is a Amin9 arp.
have fun with it and tell me if that is about what your looking for.
have a nice day...

allright - here's the last one.
that one is tricky to play fluently - but give it a try!
its a g#min pentatonic three note per string lick
over a c#min chord.
its a modified version of a lick chris poland plays on his "chasing the sun" record....

These are great. Thanks. However, my chord theory sucks, so maybe you could add a suitable chord progression under each of these lines in the powertab so I get an idea in context.
Thanks

hello,
i've edited the first two ptabs. they now include a staff with chords that should work well. because i dont have my guitar with me at the moment and i can't listen to the tabs playing i can't give you a "sounds wonderful - guarantee" though.
over the third example just strum any c#min chord :)
