Um... well that's a broad subject... in what area of it thought? Sounds and amp settings? Attitude? Performance? Clothing and Fashion :D ? or nothing really specific being this more an I-wanna-know-your-experiences-live kinda thread?

Let me know and I'll try to post something helpful... and even if I can can one of the wiser guys will :)

miscellaneoud live tips:

*most importantly, have fun. if you're bored the audience will be bored.

*don't be afraid to change songs a little. you don't have to play it just like the record, if people wanted that they'd hire a DJ. don't be afraid to improvise a bit, just be sure you step on your band mates toes.

*my eye contact with the audience.

*Don't be shy. being on stage gives you permission to act a bit larger-than-life. remeber your performing.

*have a through soundcheck and make sure everything works right and sounds pretty beforehand.

*and lastly, play 'Rock and Roll' by Led Zepplin. everybody loves that song!:D

Actually, Jorge, a tip from each of those topics that you mentioned would be great. (Thanks for all the tips, you other guys)

few tips from me,

bring spare picks, lots of em....

tune tune and tune again...

cut the twirly strings off if you have daggy strings hacing over your tuning keys (presentation is everything)

tuck your lead around your strap, as you WILL step on it sometime

not too much bass in your amp, it will sound ****e especially if they mic them up.

bring a spare guitar strap as your bass player will forget theirs.

write song lists for every member of the band, that way after songs you do not have to ask "what song is next"

they are a few broad ones, hope they help

live playing tips..

invest in some light blue hair dye

make eye contact, but only with large breasted girls...

bring lots of duct tape, apply liberally to the drum mics

instead of imagining the crowd in their underwear, encourage them to toss undergarments on stage..

use wah on every song, if you have a talk box make strange noises during the drum solo..

if you break a string, use the wang bar for the rest of the song, dive bombs and elephant effects especially..

use the words cool, vibe, and brutal between every song...

always, talk about how great the underground scene is..

wear a condom...

if you step on the cable and it disconnects from your guitar, immediately grab it, rub the contacts against the strings of your guitar, drop to your knees and pretend you are having an orgasm..

hook a big muff pi stomp box into your bass player's effects setup.. sneak over and turn it on during a ballad..

hire a flute player...

well, I think that covers everything..
