Famous rock song, and I guess many of the players here
might have played it before.

The opening power chords of
G, Bb, C, G, Bb, C#, C, G, Bb, C, Bb, G.

I saw a video of the live performance, and saw that Steve's hand was like always around the third fret of the guitar when he played this riff. Anyone knows how he actually play it?

I'd guess like this:

G: open 3rd and 4th strings
Bb: 3rd and 4th strings fretted at third fret
C: 3rd and 4th strings fretted at fourth fret

Assuming I've not made any mistakes, you can prolly figure out the rest.

Hi... the C powerchord would be at the 5th, not 4th fret...
