played last night at church using a marshall avt100 and had some serious problems with this unwanted noise. i have had this problem before with this amp, but last night was the last straw and i am really keen to rectify it.
the sound comes through when the gain is turned anywhere above 4 on both channels. it seems to be worse when the built in effects are on. i tried several things such as changing guitars, leads, standing in different positions, not putting the amp through the sound system, using no fold back, changing the settings. afetr i did all of this i ran out of ideas...and patience!!!
the sound doesnt happen when i use the clean channel so im fairly confident it has something to do with the gain.
as i said, i have had this problem before, as have the other guitarists that use it. i didnt realise that everyone else could hear the noise, but afterwards people told me it sounded pretty poor.
anyone have this problem or has any suggestions as to how i can eliminate this without just playing with really low gain settings???
