Well, my vibrato, in my opinion is pretty decent. It gets the job done. But what I want to do is when I bend a note, I want to be able to vibrato that, too. I've tried, and it always sound forced, very wide bends, unlike normal vibrato, which sounds very natural, and gives a note a very nice touch. How can I get my bended notes to sounds like that? I always have trouble making a smooth, controlled vibrato motion while I'm holding the note up.

Hey UH. Well the way I do it is:
1. Thumb over fretboard
2.Bend from the wrist and support the bend from the wrist
3. To add vibrato to the bend do it mainly with your fingers while holding the bend with your wrist.

This keeps the bends real tight while allowing the use of vibrato.

Hope this helps,

Thats one of the hardest techniques in my book !

Try a scalloped neck, a set of .008" strings tuned down to Eb !

That seems to help certain people !

dont forget the strat..the dimarzio silent single coils, DOD od pedal, marshalls,......and lashings and lashings of Hairspray........and a neo "i am the one" ego to boot.

:D heh

Haha I have a DOD distortion pedal, and IMO it works great. I got it 2 years ago at guitar center for like 20 bucks and have used it ever since! I love the sound I get out of that baby through my 100 watt fender. Too bad I don't have a tremolo bar, or else it would be a lot easier to do vibrato on a bend.

I guess no one thought of suggesting you use a tremelo if you have one? That is certainly the easiest way to do it, and it works for chords too.
