Hey guys..

I have this half stack and every time I plug into it, I can hear humming, and when I touch my tuning pegs at the top of my guitar..it sounds like I am touching a mike when it is on. Plus I can talk into my pickups and hear my voice. THis gets more and more as I turn up my gain. SOmetimes when i touch my guitar strings or when i take my hands off the strings..the humming gets louder..whats going on?

Does it happen with other amps?

It sounds like your bridge isn't grounded on your guitar. The bridge should be tied into the ground lead. Strats usually have a wire soldered to the tremolo system somewhere.

Go to guitarnuts.com and check out that site for all sorts of detailed info about grounding and protecting yourself from shocks.

grounding apart (which, yes, should be checked along with your guitar lead)... it sounds like your pickups may have become microphonic (i.e. you can talk through them). Is it all of them?

If they are standard single coils some humming at high gain comes with the territory. Microphony is another matter.
