ok i have a problem with picking fast where my thumb rubs on the 2 strings below the string being picked producing a lot of nasty fuzz that is noticeable on fast runs when playing with distortion.
i float my hand when playing but the whole hand is really close to the strings, i dont have big enough hands to do play like paul gilbert where he seems to anchor right below the wrist, arch his hand, and still hold the pick choked up. instead i am resting about 1/3 way down my forearm and i cant figure out a way to arch enough to not have the thumb hit the strings and still have any control over the pick.
anyone else have a similar problem? anyone want to post a link to the thread where eric shows how he holds the pick...
any comments at all will be greatly appreciated, it sucks being able to play something seemingly cleanly then have it all go to hell when you hit the channel switch.
