I was wondering wat kind of a stack would be good for a metal guitarist like myself... i was thinkin maybe Crate Blue Voodoo Head and cab... or maybe Marshall Dsl and 1960 cab... the marshall is more expensive so im kinda leaning towards the Crate... so wat do u people think? what should i go with?

Have you even been anywhere to try what you're talking about? Check the sound with YOUR guitar? Any effects that you will be using? It always comes down to personal taste. One person's perfect metal sound is another's "needs lotsa help" sound.
I have heard both good things and bad things about Crate amps over the years.
I really suggest looking at more than just the two you've mentioned. I keep hearing more and more people falling in love with the Peavey 5150 series of amps. And I don't hang around with country and western people.
Just a suggestion to look at more choices. Ultimately, it's your bucks and decision. I know I haven't been much help but you get what you pay for.;)

Hi there,
the Marshall ( the JCM 2000 is really cool, so is the Anniversary top ) and Laney Blue Voodoo sure are cool amps, especially for rock and metal.
Depends on what kinda sound you wanna get. RM II already mentioned the 5150, which I think is a great rock / metal amp too.
I also recommend checking out Laneys... the VH100R and GH100 are quite popular for rock these days, too ( i.e. check out Racer X... ).
And I recommend the same thing... take your guitar and maybe your effects to a guitar store which has some variety of amps and check it out. I dunno where you live, but in the States, I usually go to a local Mars Superstore or Guitar Center.
They have a bunch of amps in the salesroom, and usually they have a small room full of amps that is supposed to be a room where you can check an amp or guitar at a louder volume without bothering anyone or something.
Take your time, play around with the EQ, and play those amps all through the same cabinet, just to make sure you actually hear the difference...
Hope this helps
Eric
