Hey guy's, I'm really getting impatient with my speed. Just how long did it take you to get things up to 200 BPM?

Depends on how dedicated you are to getting faster and how long you have been playing.. Ive only been playing a couple years and I have no speed whatsoever but I can play decent rhythm and slower more melodic solos mainly because those are the areas I focused on. You gotta focus your efforts on getting faster specifically.. But dont kid yourself its going to take alot of work to get fast and be able to paly accurately at those speeds.
Have Fun :).

Specifically what things?
There are still many things I can't play at 200 BPM!

As a guy who lost his playing to tendinitis and then got it back after 5 years, I'd caution again pushing too fast or too hard. I did 4 years of classical guitar requirements in only 2 years for college and paid the awful price. Impatience was my justification, btw!

Speed will come, and believe me, there are many other things to focus on in the meantime. Also, too much focus on technique and make you quite stiff and not fluid at all. I think if you're close to 200 beats per minute, frankly, you're plenty fast as it is.
