I have a question for anybody that wants to reply. How or what kind of practice will help to create individuality on my fingers. It seems the more I progress, or the faster I solo, my fingers, like my ring and pinky finger, seem to come down at the same time. What exercises should a player practice to help this??

heres my best bet:

chromatic scales 4 to a string with fingering 1-2-3-4......2,3,4,1....,3,4,1,2...4,1,2,3...after these, come up with your own ..plenty of combinations.

also there are some plyometric exercises that i can not detail here
a) because i think they are proprietary and
b) run into to much detail to describe here.

There is a kind of pricey plyometric exercise plan you can order from a place that work pretty well. I would first like to say that i do not work for nor am i affiliated with them in any way.
If anyone wants the address i can give it to them. This plan works pretty well for keeping your fingers in shape and developing independence, though do not believe all of the hype they throw your way should you read one of their advertisements. They do have a free info package you can get however.

lata hope this helps

Try one of mine:

Two fingers per string:

Fingers 1-2 on every string, then
1-3
1-4
2-3
2-4
3-4

The frirst one would be, say frets 7-8, starting on 6th string and go up and back. Descending, you'd really be going 2-1 instead of 1-2, though either works.

Three fingers per string:
1-2-3
1-3-4
1-2-4
2-3-4

All scales ascending and descending.

One of our more highly experienced members recommended Ten Minute Guitar Workout for this sort of thing. I have not used the book yet, but did find it at amazon.com.
