Hi all,

Berklee has started transforming some of its services onto the Internet. I have been paying close attention to this and now they went online with their portal. Mmmm, will be interesting how this evolves and what they are planning next.

I though I'd let ya know. I'd really like to hear your thoughts about this. Well, and if you would take one of their courses pls let us all know how it went.

At the moment courses in these fields are available: Production, Writing, Business and Education.

Well, I'm not sure what to actually think about this. They just went online so we will need to see how this develops in the future.

Here's the description for Theory 101:

Pitch. Rhythm. Scales. Intervals. Chords. Harmony. If you're serious about music, these are fundamental concepts you need to understand and master. Music Theory 101 will set you on your way. After more than 40 years at Berklee, Professor Emeritus Paul Schmeling has helped countless students build a solid base of musical knowledge. And he'll do the same for you, supported by class discussions, interactive tools, and personalized feedback that will help you put these theories into practice every day. Join our community of beginning learners for engaging, hands-on activities that will help you read, write, and truly hear the elements of music like never before. Enroll today!

Upon completing this course, you will have learned to:

Read and write musical notation
Play notes on a piano keyboard
Use scales, intervals, and chords
Write a melodyThis is the only course currently offered online that appealed to me, and it sounds like it would be a fantastic experience--12 weeks $800 USD. It would be wonderful if they are successful with these offerings and were able to extend the theory-oriented course catalog.
