Hi again.
Last time I had to have been on a trip (read: no sleep at all).
I figured stuff out about the I, IV, V progression. I'd just forgotten about their minor version. So now come another tricky part, finding out what those chords actually are in a Bb Harmonic Major / Bb Major (b6) scale. What I got after MANY hours of thinking was that:
I=Bb
IV=Ebm
V=F
I2=Gb (#5)
IV2=Cdim
V2=Dm
Now I started to get upset about the fact that the Bb chords minor version actually is a major chord until I saw that it's just 'cause I've got a Gb instead of a G in the scale. Now that's okay.
Then I got my hands on a piano and started adding colors. Dissonant colors ;P (A friend hated me for that).
So what I've got is this progression.
4/4 || Bbmaj7/A | Ebmadd9 | Gbmaj7(#5) | Cdim7 | Bbmaj7/A |
5/4 | F7B9/Eb Dm7b13/C |
4/4 | Ebmadd9/Gb Gbmaj7(#5) | Bbmaj7/D ||
Pretty strange colors. But I like it, that's what counts, after all, it's MY music and it's for myself I write. Keep in mind that it's only the Clean Guitar that does all these colors, the strings keeps to the simple triads and the bass just concentrate on the noted bassnotes (if none then it's just the root of the chord).
BTW. The only chord in the scale that's left is Amb5.
Anyone got another idea of a progression? Maby a Fifth-walk or a Third-walk? Oh, does anyone have some basic drumpatterns used in fusion? I'm just another darn metalhead when it comes to writing music so the only rhythms I know is rock and metal, oh, and samba ;P
Cheers!
