Hey all.
I know this is long, but it is well worth a read.
I was so frustrated when I finished reading this, cuz music is what I wanna do with my life, and this just basically ruins my dreams...
Its off melband.net - and australian site of course.

Yeah that does sound pretty bad to me, and maybe it's a reality in many cases, but this guy sounds to me like he only saw one end of the bargain, he talked about his friends band who got badly treated and I think he just feels bitter about that. He's seriously pessimistic as well and has a certain air of bitter sarcasm about it all. While he may have made a lot of good points, I still see a hell of a lot of bands out there who's members are rolling in enough dough to afford big houses, flashy cars, and swimming pools the size of lake Michigan in thier back garden. Sure there are gonna be cases where people and bands get ****ed over by the bigger fish but you can't take one guys word for, he's had a bad experience in one country with one record company and he's bitter, why would he go to such trouble of writing something so bloody long to make people like yourself, and me for that matter, feel so bad, unless he just wanted people to feel as bad as he did. I know I'm only young and niave but I think he's exaggerating a little for the benefit of writing something to make feel as bad as he does, I mean he doesn't say anything constructive, he's just trying to put people off so they don't suceed where he and his friends failed.
