Hi there,
someone just sent me an Email telling me about a site where you can watch a few videos of the Shawn Lane / Jonas Hellborg / Jeff Sipe-trio
Here is the LINK (http://www.abstractlogix.com/index2.html)
I checked the first few minutes of the DC-video ( all videos are streaming, and youīll need Windows Media Player ), and itīs VERY interesting stuff.
And Shawn Lane definitely is an incredible player.
So, hereīs a chance to watch two concerts of the guys.
Check it out

aah,Shawn Lane has been my fave forever, absolutely the nr.1 when it comes to improv and being innovative.
In my opinion this guy is a 1000x better than Vai ,Satriani or Morse or Howe.
This trio with Hellborg and Sipe is the most innovative trio of the last 5 years.
the albums Temporal Analogues of Paradise and Time is the Enemy are a must for all of you.
Shawn's playing was more agressive a while ago,he's dealing with arthritis in all bones, including his fingers. But he's still da man!
btw,the HLS300k set in the lower section is the best, and is also the only one you can save to your disk.check it out.

Hey there,
he really has to deal with arthritis ? Man, this dude has some bad luck. And he is such an amazing musician. I really love "Powers Of Ten" and "Tritone.."
I wouldnt say heīs better than Morse, Vai or Howe, I simply think he is different. I enjoy listening to ALL of these guys.
Lane sure is a monster when it comes to technique ( I remember Paul Gilbert saying something along those lines too ). First thing by Lane I heard was "All Along The Watchtower" and I was like "OMG, this dude is an alien"...
I didnīt even notice that you can download the HLS 300 k set, I am doing so right now. When I was watching the streams, my computer crashed, so Ill download this set and watch it straight from the harddisk tonight.

For everyone not familiar with Lane at all, check out this:
An old article (http://home.wanadoo.nl/apernath/articles/gp_0389_01.jpg)
This was taken from this AWESOME SL-tribute site (http://home.wanadoo.nl/apernath/index.htm) which really offers a lot of information, old articles and lesson by Shawn, and much more.
Check it out, Lane really is an incredible musician and his music should appeal to many of you, whether you like rock, shred, fusion, eastern music or whatever

hey!Shawn and Jonas Hellborg just released a new album with the 3 sons of Vikku Vinayakram of McLaughlin's old Shakti.
Ummahesh,Umashankar and Selvaganesh, who plays in the new Shakti.
This album is highly innovative, carnatic music with western harmony and Shawn never played so carnatic inspired before, highly reccomended.
