I just joined, and after looking around this seems like an interesting forum. Just a little bit about me, I'm 16 and from the Midwest region of the USA. I love rock, and alternative. I'm also a sucker for oldies.

I'd consider the Beatles to be oldies. The Moody Blues, The Doors, and The Guess Who are all good.

Or am I treading on thin ice here? Should I have said...Glenn Miller? Cab Calloway? They're good too.

What is your favorite oldie bass part?
I kind of like "We Gotta Get out of this place" by "The animals"
Or maybe "I want you Back " Jacksone 5 (Jamie Jameson)

Well at least she didn't say Ratt or Dokken :)

I like Pauls Bass on The Beatles "Think for Youself"
And of Course there's Jack Bruce's bass on Crossroads and everything thing else he played on. And Entwistle's Bass on The Real Me. And, And, And...

Hey there.
it's nice to have another girl here! We're few and far between! Anyway, you'll like this place, very cool people. I share your taste in music, classic rock is on the top of my list. And you may find, as I have that some new musical doors open up to you in here. So many musicians and bands I have never heard of that ';m checking into on the advice of some of the people in here. Lots of good info, great articles, it's a great place. Hope to see you around!

Somebody noticed that she calls herself a bassist? :D
Axe-holic who's this Praetorius?

Welcome! :) The bass player in my band is also a young lady. Female bassists are nearly a 'staple' part of every rock diet... or so it would seem from time to time :D

The lead guitarist in my band is a female. I play backup :(

Axe-holic: Micheal Praetorius isn't an oldie. Pope Gregory the Great is!
