Hi there,
I played both the JS 100 and JS 1000. They´re nice guitars. In case you get the JS 100, you might wanna invest into different pickups.
I didn´t like the ones that were in there, they were a bit muddy-sounding. Maybe you wanna get the ones they put into the JS1000... a PAF Pro and a FRED by DiMarzio.
Other than that, those are very nice guitars

do try the latest JS2000 if it's at your dealer's. it's a fixed bridge model but it locks like a floater so you get the best of both worlds.
the features of the JS100 aren't top notch, especially the bridge, Ibanez is doing away with the lo-trs trems come 2003. so i suggest you hold your horses & see what's in store after the new year

i would shell out for the 1000. I have the 100 and the pickups are crap, but the trem is awful. The 1000 has the Edge trem which is really good, much more similar to the original Floyd

the JS 1000 is Lo-Pro Edge equipped. the Edge trem is resident in JS 900

my mistake. I read Satriani prefers the stiffer Edge, so i thought they were on the 1000's
