What's up all?

I've been wondering is it better to get a H H guitar and use coil split to get a single coil sound or is it better to use a H S H guitar w/a five way switch? What are the pros and cons?

Personally I been thinking of using a push/pull pot on a H H guitar but some of my friends told me it is a bit noisy.

Dun know much about H S H guitars. I only know that if you coil split the humbucker and use it with the center pickup it will cancel out the hum. || | ||

if you are using this two pickups together. I'm wondering would it sound like a humbucker?

Hi there,

about the pros and cons... in the early days, I used an Ibanez with a H-S-H-configuration. I really liked the clean sounds ( hum-cancelling in mid-positions, inner coil of a humbucker plus the single coil... ).
The problem was that it kinda got into my way of picking back then, meaning that the singlecoil kinda was in the way. Ever since then, I have been using HH-guitars.
When I switch to the middle-position, only the inner coils are used, and that results in a nice clean sound.

Or check out this solution: IBANEZ SC (http://www.ibanez.com/guitars/guitar.asp?model=SC420) ( hold your mouse over the ">pickup switching" link )
