This is pretty much how I learned how to do sweep picked arpeggios (listen to file)
My question is that do most people learn it beginning with 6 string sweeps, or the smaller ones like 3 string? which are generally more difficult (smaller arpeggio runs or larger ones)? I see to have more trouble sweep picking smaller runs. I got most of my sweeppick/arpeggio lessons from Yngwie articles in magazines
ack... this is somewhat difficult to put into words
sound quality is horrible on this

First sweeps i learned were 5 string sweeps with a tapped high note. Usually you dont do those till last but i found them easier and learned them first. The sweeping sounds good i'd just work on sounding out each note and make it more clear. Some of the 3 string sweeps i tend to not wanna move my fingers and dead the string like usual but rather keep the ones i can in place. But with the 5 string sweep you cant really do that so it broke that habbit for me.

it depends on the person itself ... personally i cannot say i'm done with sweeping ... i started out with 3 string sweeps, once i got bored i started moving on the 6 strings and 5 strings .... lol ... still, i'm far off but i have more to work on now.
And it's fun anyway, now i can take simple chord progressions and "sweep" (not the quotes!! :p ) through them to make life more interesting and enjoyable

Personally im mixing it up with my learning towards sweep...
I have numerous different sweeps that I practice slowly... I have some three string arps and i have some 5 strings... I figure i may as well leanr some 5 stuff to keep it fresh...
The only thing i am having trouble with is my right hand position... i think i may have weird hands... i notice how many players seem to have their hands at right angles to the strings but i kind of have much less of an angle there....
I am trying to adopt a Michael Angelo style where he anchors with all three fingers but its proving difficult and a little wierd... mainly because im not used to picking at that kind of angle but i guess if i least try and stick with it i may find that my picking will become a lot faster and easier because right now I dont feel that my hand is in an optimum position for picking....

I work on chord shapes in 3, 4, 5 and 6 strings. I can make it all work fine as long as I stay in regular groupings (8th notes, tripplets, 16th notes, sextuplets) but as soon as I hit septuplets or nonaplets... my playing goes off... so I guess it's mainly a rhythmic issue more than anything else. Sweeping is probably my weakest technical spot and I'm working on it.
