Hi,

What's up all?

I went to watch Deep Purple Live in Singapore on May 9th and its totally awesome...

Totally blown away by Steve Morse's playing...he is amazing...

As a matter a fact I got to hear this brand new song by Deep Purple entitled The Well Dress Guitar that might be on their new ablum.

Its actually an instrumental and is about 2 - 3 minutes long. Personally I think the song sounded a bit like some thing Yngwie Malmsteen might play...a bit towards the classcial side, featuring some real fast shredding and arpeggios.

Overall I think its not a bad instrumental, pretty cool sounding.

Steve Morse really got the crowd going when he started playing the famous intro from Sweet Child O'Mine By GNR, he played a total of eight different intros b4 launching into Smoke On the Water, other songs/intros included Stairway to Heaven, Back In Black, Money For Nothing.

A Good Concert, glad I went

Hey,

I think it“s cool that you had a chance to see DP. I was planning on attending one of their shows this summer, too...

What do you think of the new lineup, now that Don Airey has replaced Jon Lord ?

And yes, "The Well-Dressed Guitar" is cool. They have been playing it for a while now, it actually is something like Steve“s guitar-solo.
You“re right about those arpeggios. Did ya notice that Steve plays those with all alternate picking ? ;)
The song to me is something like "Tumeni Notes V 2.0". Those arpeggio parts are somehow similar to the ones he played in "Tumeni Notes" ( stay tuned for the second part of my "Steve Morse article trilogy", I“ll talk about those arps there )
Man, I am looking forward to see the guys live this summer.
Warm regards
Eric
