View Full Version : help?Whats with the spring and trem thing?

Hi guys and gals,I've just bought an electric guitar but the tremolo wasn't fitted,I've screwed it in but nothing happens? It came with a spring but have no idea what its for? Help!!!! Thankyou.:confused:

Yo dude, I'm assuming you have been given the Tremolo Claw with ur trem??

If so this has to be screwed into the rear tremolo cavity before the springs can be attached to this and the trem unit.

Did you get a claw?

Hi dude,Thanks for the help.

I dont think I got a claw,I guess it looks like a claw???(looks through packaging again) .......Nope no claw!
All I got was the trem arm thing,a spring thing and 2 allan keys?
Is the rear tremolo cavity on the back of the guitar?under the panel?

My Banjo was never this complicated!

i answered this for you on your other post. The guitar is a squier. It comes already setup. The extra spring is not needed unless you need to adjust your trem. Pull down on the bar instead of up hope this helps.

So is the problem sorted now?

Does ur trem work???? yes, as someone has mentioned, Squires trems can only be depressed?

That means I drew this super pic for nothing!

This thing shoulda come with instructions.For an amatuer this is all a bit complicated!!!....
