Hello,

Countless times i turn on my vs880 (8 track mixer/recorder) and i start recording and when i press play to hear my recording it doesn't come through the speakers or headphones plugged directly into it even though i can see the input readings bouncing up and down.
To fix it i have to load another song ( a default one ) and then re-load a new song and start again. This is really strange.
Any ideas?

There are three mixer modes in the VS880 depending on which one you are in and how your faders are set you can see the meters move but not hear any sound. Your faders can be set to 0 even though they are not physically at 0 sometimes you just neeed to move the faders down to 0 and back to get them where you want. When you do automated mixing you can get your faders acting like you are moving them even though they are not physically moving. If you have your unit plugged into MIDI a signal could be coming into the unit telling the faders to go to 0.
THe VS880 is a GREAT unit it is just not very easy to learn to use.
I spent 150 $ last summer to go to a seminar put on by roland on using the VS880. Now I am pretty good at this already, but I learned some cool stuff there and I recommend it. If you have all three manual that came with the unit you can go through each exercise and learn a great deal.

These units are great but they are too complicated for most people to use. Unless you get a lot of practice with it you will quickly forget how do do the simplest things.
