A computer based back up band for recording.

I am into computer based recording. I am looking for a computer based back up band for recording that sounds good and is easy to use.

Any Ideas ?

what do you mean by computer based backup band?

fruityloops or reason contain both drum sequencers and lots of soft synths that you can program to sound like basses and what not. i'd suggest one of those. fruity is easy and pretty cheapo too.

If you're looking for a 'backing band' to improvise on; the program called Band in a Box seems to be the best choice for you. But if you meant recording your own compositions on your own by 'backing band' then I recommend the Reason + Cubase SX combo. It works really neat and this combination is what they usually teach in sound engineering courses.

i'll second that. i use cubase sx myself and it's fantastic. i use it with fruity which is a bit less involved, with less features than reason. i didn't need reason's softsynths and bells and whistles since i have a korg triton and a batch of nice plugins. either fruity or reason with cubase is a fantastic choice.

Thanks for the info. I have heard Band in a Box and have used it a couple of times. I was not inpressed with the sound or the amount of control.

I think I'll look in to the loop based software.

I'm just lloking for a good way to put the sounds I hear in my head on a CD.

Has anybody used electric keyboards for backup rhythm? The built in background tracks....... I tought I would check them out, but never got around to it.
