Hey all. I've been thinking about expanding my boundries to include singing. A few close friends think I have a good voice, though they could be bias :p

Any exercises I should be doing to help develop this? And what about singing and playing guitar at the same time?

One exercise I've been doing, though it's primarily for ear training, is to sing scales and check it against my guitar to see if I'm right.

Just put a good CD on (not instrumental) and sing along. To practice playing and singing, learn some Ramones or Kinks, something quite basic and easy, and sing along while playing.

If that's the case you should put in a variety of bands you love yourself and sing along to them... i personally try to keep the spectrum eclectic so it influences your tone and not necessarily your style (which is incredibly inevitable, you can just tone down the intensity of influence).
