I'm thinking of learning the song, how advanced is it? How long had you been playing before you could consider learning the song?
thanks

That's a kind of "if you have to ask, you can't" question. If you listen to the song, you'll hear some fairly simple, but well coordinated fingerpicking going on. You'll also hear several single-note runs that flow out of and into adjecent sections. You'll also hear that the song spans seven or so frets. Sooo . . . Should you attempt this? Why not, if you're comfortable playing with your fingers and can work in single note runs into body that's mainly Travis-style picking.
Get yourself a copy of Powertab and then find the very good Classical Gas file that's on quite a few tab sites. Check it out. Learn the song section by section. It's a great song to play. It's an old party favourite of mine; people love to hear it.

If you're comfortable with fingerpicking and you can keep rhythem. The only thing you have to do is practice, practice and practice.
Good Luck
