Vai....anything from Eat Em and Smile and Skyscraper.

Nuno Bettencourt, anything from Extremes Pornograffiti.

But without a shadow of a doubt, and in my mind the greatest guitar solo ever, (big words eh?) David Gilmour from Pink Floyd's solo on Comfortably Numb from the album The Wall.

I've been moved by music but I used to listen to that track over and over and over and it never failed to a bring a tear to the eye.

Total class.

There's alot of awesome solo's from the 80's. I believe Jason Becker's Perpetual Burn CD was released in 88. That CD is definitely awesome. Mables Fatal Fable and Air are one of my favorites off that CD. There's also Yngwie's Black Star and Rising Force are some of my fav solos by him. I learned how to play rising force a couple of months ago. Very awesome.

Although released in 1975, Jeff Becks Blow by Blow included my favorite guitar solo in the track of the 80's, "Cause we've ended as lovers".
Talk about Phrasing!

Tons of great stuff from the '80s. My favorites are George Lynch (Dokken), Vito Brata (White Lion), Angus Young (AC/DC), Randy Rhoads (Ozzy), those guys from Night Ranger, and then there's Whitesnake, Autograph, Jake E. Lee (Ozzy), Micheal Schenker, The Scorpions, and on and on.

There are some great ones.

Both solos in "Powerslave" by Iron Maiden

"Kree Nakoorie," and "Hiroshima Mon Amour" by Alcatrazz(Yngwie) plus anything off Rising Force(already mentioned, but you just can't ignore the guy)

"Diary of a Madman" from the album of the same name - my first exposure to Hungarian Minor

"Thank God for the Bomb" from The Ultimate Sin

"The Mission" from Operation:Mindcrime

"Knocking at Your Backdoor" by Deep Purple

...plus too any others to mention. If the songwriting had been as consistent as the guitar playing, the 80's could have produced a race of musical super heroes.

Midnight by Satch does not have anything close to resembling a solo. For solos from the 80's, I would have to say Love Removal Machine by the Cult, the Number of the Beast by Iron Maiden, too many to choose!
