Hiya,
lately I've been doing warm-ups for my hand and fingers and I realize that I can't move my ring finger and pinky independently...
Esp. in this exercise (hope I can explain it):
1. Hold the hand straight, with the fingers pointing to the sky.
2. Bow all fingers (except thumb ofcourse) so that every joint makes an angle of 90 degrees (the last joints should now be bend toward the ground).
3. Stretch the index finger slowely and bend it back.
4. Stretch the middle finger etc.
5. etc. For all fingers.
Now, my index and middle aren't any problem and the rest of the fingers keep in place just fine, but when I have to stretch my ring finger, my pinky comes up (partially). And sometimes my middle finger too...
Does anyone know if this will ever get better by practicing? It reflects in my playing, because I seem to have difficulties with passages that use the 3rd and 4th finger a lot.
Thanks!
