I have decided it is about time I got a bass amp and stopped playing it through my guitar amp (it's probably doing it no good). Can anyone here point me towards a good value low end model that would be ideal for just practice and recording.
Cheers.

Any Trace Elliot is going to be good, 2nd hand ones can go for as little as £100.

Cool, thanks. I'll have a look and see if I can test one.

I use a Behringer BX1200 and it's a great amp for the price. They have three different sized models available, and that's the largest, so if there are smaller, less expensive versions available. However, for the price it's a great amp that's big enough to use in just about any setting, save for overly-load metal bands or such.

Have a look at the Ashdown Pratice Range.

I got a 5-15. 100W for around £160. The older version is only 65W for the same price, so try and get your hands on the newer model.

Its really good if you play with lots of bass and little trebble. It can handle my low B perfectly.

I wrote a review HERE (http://mothbox.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=13) if you want to have a look.
