I'm thinking of buying the book Music Reading for Guitar: The Complete Method http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/0793581885/ref=ord_cart_shr/026-3064162-0455645?%5Fencoding=UTF8&m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE

but I'm already going through the book "how to read music" by terry burrows, which I borrowed from my library

would you think i'd need both books? or am i fine with the second one? which isn't for guitar spefically

Personally, I couldn't see why you would need a method book if you know how to read music and know how to figure out what the notes are on the guitar (no matter how slow you may be at it). Just pick up some sheet music from the library or some really cheap stuff at a store and start reading. A while back I picked up about 30 clarinet concerto's for $3 and they are challenging me just fine right now.

Read anything and everything.

well I may just pass up on that book off amazon and continue reading through the other one and just go through sheet music that I can get from a library
