I must say that I just read this article by Eric straight through.

I thought this was a terrific article. Also a really great topic that isn't addressed often, especially among the "shred" crow (that wasn't an insult, I practice my chops for hours a day, too). I thought it was funny how Dream Theater was mentioned so much, seeing as how they are my favorite band. Everytime I listen to Metroplis Pt.1 I think to myself, "How in God's name did they write this? I will never be able to write a song like this..." but this article really inspired me.

I wish articles were posted more often though (by anyone). The last few articles have been great, really good insights into something other than chops... which is refreshing.

Everyone who writes articles for ibreathe, keep up the good work. Most of you guys aren't commended enough for spending the amount of time you probably take to plan and write those articles. I, and I'm sure many others here, truly appreciate it.

yeah all these articals are simply amazing.

i always say to people that are confused about theory 'just read the articals at ibreath'.
i always say to people that are confused about technique 'just read the articals at ibreath'.

etc.

its a great site that covers just about all aspects of guitaring. the articalls are not updated that often but the majority of them work you up from begginer - advanced.

for example

Davids articall on Arpeggios.

starts off with 'whats an arpeggio?' (snore.. speed shredders get bored)

but within a few pages its like Tapping arps at 90bpm in groups or nine! then combining 5/6 string sweeps.

its not like www.chopsfromhell.com (http://www.chopsfromhell.com) which -although it is updated about every month- some of the articals are more like 'one minute licks' or are advertisements.

thats what i like about ibreath, the articalls can start of with a simple concept but are expanded into really advanced stuff.

Eric always apologizes for these types of articles, and I think they're his best ones! :D
